The milky way over the cottage as seen through a fisheye lens. I was testing out the 5D Mark II’s high ISO noise levels, they are unbelievably low.

(Yet another) shot of the milky way over the cottage with Orion to the right, and a glow on the horizon. This was taken while I was experimenting with the noise levels on the 5D Mark II, this incredibly enough is at ISO 12,800.

The cold temperatures at night at the cottage produce some pretty incredible noises in the ice as it grows and creates these stress cracks. This crack resembled the track a snake would leave in the ground.

While skating on the frozen lake at the cottage over Family Day in February, I found this leaf in the middle of the lake.

Snow shoe tracks made in the deep snow over a month before this picture was taken. The mid-February melt, followed by freezing temperatures turned the tracks into solid ice.
